NEW YORK — GoFundMe has launched a centralized hub for verified fundraisers supporting people affected by devastating flash floods in Nepal, including several campaigns organized by members of the Nepali community in the New York metropolitan area, according to Madison Jones, a communications manager and spokesperson for GoFundMe.

The fundraising platform said its Nepal Flood Relief Hub is intended to help donors identify campaigns that have undergone enhanced review while providing information for people seeking to start relief fundraisers. The page will be updated as additional campaigns are verified, Jones said.

Among the New York-area fundraisers featured on the hub is the Flash Flood Rasuwa Children’s Relief Fund, organized by Tsenam, a co-founder of KIMA Network and a native of Syabru Besi in Rasuwa district.

The campaign is focused on school-age children from Syabru Besi and nearby communities affected by the flooding. Organizers said 17 children in Kathmandu boarding schools had been identified as having lost their parents as search-and-rescue efforts continued. Donations are intended to support housing, education and longer-term caregiving for children whose families were affected.

Another campaign, Nepal Flood Disaster Relief 2026, was established by Prabas Nepali Samparka Samiti America, a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit representing members of the Nepali diaspora. The organization is seeking to raise $100,000 for emergency relief for flood-affected families in Nepal.

According to the campaign, money raised would be directed to official government relief programs or qualified organizations working in affected areas. The group said it plans to provide documentation and information about the distribution of funds and campaign fees.

Niural AI also has launched a fundraiser for communities along Nepal’s border with China, where the company said some of its employees were directly affected by the flooding. The campaign seeks money for food, temporary shelter, medical care and search-and-rescue support, along with longer-term rebuilding needs.

GoFundMe’s Trust & Safety team is reviewing fundraisers related to the Nepal flooding to determine whether they meet the platform’s requirements and to help protect donors, Jones said. The company said its reviews use both human oversight and technical tools intended to identify potential misuse.

Under GoFundMe’s process, donations are processed by payment partners and released to the named beneficiary after that person’s information has been verified, according to Jones. If questions arise, payment processors may hold funds until the recipient’s identity is confirmed.

GoFundMe also said donors are covered by its Giving Guarantee, which allows for a full refund in certain cases for up to one year after a donation.

In addition to individual fundraisers, the platform identified several nonprofit organizations responding to the Nepal flooding, including All Hands and Hearts, Direct Relief, Wine to Water and World Central Kitchen.
